Manna Storehouse is a Non-Profit organization, operated completely by volunteers and supported by 11 churches and multiple businesses within Weatherford and Parker County.  Our mission is to assist those in need to sustain a dignified life which hopefully leads to an improved life style, thereby improving confidence and independence.

 

     Manna receives donations daily, mostly from Parker County residences who would like to make a difference in someone’s life by giving some of their excess, be it money, clothing, furniture, food, etc.  When receiving these donations, they are separated and organized by the volunteers manning the various sections within the Manna Storehouse building. 

    

     The priority use for these items is for our Clients who financially qualify for assistance.  They have a choice of furniture, bedding, baby items, kitchen supplies, etc.  Clothing is also available to all family members 4 times per year.  Food is also available to the families one time each month.  The food is accumulated at Manna through Food Drives by Schools, Businesses, the Post Office, and individuals.  In addition, Manna purchases a variety of food weekly through the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

 

     The amount of generous donations often exceeds the amount used by the qualified clients.  Therefore the remaining items are sold at our two bi-monthly garage sales.  The money received during the garage sales has amounted to approximately 50% of the money required to operate Manna.  The money we receive supplements other donations to fund the food purchased from the food bank, food purchased for our annual Client Thanksgiving dinners provided, utilities, and building maintenance.  Also some money is set aside to provide occasionally to Clients that need some assistance with medical bills or utility bills.  These are reviewed carefully with the Client in conjunction with the utility company, Doctors’ Office or Pharmacy.

 

     We pride ourselves with the fact what we are completely 100% volunteer.  All monetary and physical donations are all use to support our community members in need.
